A Peek Into Our Week

This past week was full of little moments that made everything feel extra cozy. We bought Christmas lights for outside the house to decorate this weekend, I’m super excited to decorate outside for the first time since moving to California! There’s something about seeing homes decorated at night that makes me smile every time I drive by. It starts to feel like the Christmas season is settling in. I also decorated the house even more for Christmas, once I start… I don’t stop till the house is fully decorated.

We made a Christmas bucket list, nothing fancy, just simple things I want to do with my family this season. Baking cookies, driving around to look at lights, reading festive books to my baby, and soaking in these sweet moments while he’s still so little. I picked up a few new Christmas books to read to him by the tree. We started a 1000 piece Christmas puzzle. We are only a little way in, but it’s been such a peaceful way to unwind at night while we just talk and enjoy the night together.

On the homemaking side, I made my first sourdough loaf, and honestly it felt like a huge accomplishment even if it didn’t come out perfect! I enjoy making things with the discard more though, this week I made garlic bread pull apart, my husband devoured it so that’s a big compliment for my first time haha. I’ve also been thinking about joining a mom’s group and a book club. I’m nervous and shy, and honestly the idea of meeting new people gives me a little anxiety, but part of me knows it could be good for me and good for my baby. Maybe this season is the push I need to join a little community.

Somewhere in the middle of all this, I was able to start scrapbooking moments with my son. I’ve been saving tiny prints, photos, his first little outfits, and writing down small memories that I don’t want to forget, and doing arts and crafts with him, time is really flying by.

I’ve been working on something exciting for Whispering Woods Boutique. My Christmas collection is officially underway! I’ve been planning, testing scents, setting up prop to photograph products, and putting together all the little details. If everything stays on track, the full collection should be ready to launch by December 1st. I’m so excited to share it it’s full of warm, nostalgic scents that feel like home.
